Follow our team as we prepare, travel, and serve alongside Zona Zegura and Your Mission Matters in the region surrounding Cusco, Peru this summer!

Travel & Return

After arriving in Lima on Thursday night (just before midnight), we crashed for a few hours at the hotel connected to the airport. We had to be up and checked out plenty early to clear immigrations and make our flight from Lima to Atlanta. By God’s grace, the travel was smooth and I think most of the team figured out how to sleep on the plane after a fast-paced and demanding week (well, except for Toby and Kennedy who spent the flight plotting how they could sneak up to business class with the fully reclining seats). Our connection in Atlanta was fairly uneventful and we landed back in Little Rock, welcomed with the embraces of dear family and friends.

The Lord used our time in Peru to do His work. It really shouldn’t surprise me anymore how He shows up when we step out in faith…but I’m so thankful He continues to provide opportunities for me to grow in my trust and dependence while leading these teams. I saw the Lord embolden our team members to share His Word with confidence, to give of themselves freely, and to set performance aside while choosing to simply be available. Together, we saw the Lord add souls to His Kingdom through divine appointments, encourage the local church to live faithfully and cling to God’s Word, and raise up the next generations of servant-leaders that Peru needs. Truly, our God is making His glory known and He is so patient, kind, and good to invite us into this pursuit with Him!

For those who have been following this trip and laboring in prayer with us, THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts! There was not a doubt in our minds that our labors were covered in prayer and that made all the difference. Any of our team members would love to share with you how God showed up in incredible ways all because of your support and your commitment to pray along the way…so ask them and give God glory for what He continues to do through His church!
